What we keep, where it lives, and how to change it. Short version: your puzzles stay on your device, and you choose about analytics and ads.

On your device
Your solved puzzles, streaks, lesson progress, puzzle settings and theme live in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and we can’t see them. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.
We also keep your privacy choices there, so we don’t ask again on every page.
The club
Posts and replies in the club are public. When you post, we store what you wrote, the display name you picked and the time.
To stop spam and to show which posts are yours, your browser holds a random id. We store a scrambled (salted hash) version of that id and of your IP address, never the raw IP. We use them for rate limits and moderation, nothing else.
To have a post taken down, use Report on it and say it’s yours.
If you give us your email address, we use it only to send what you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We don’t sell or share the list.
Analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to count visits, pages and puzzle plays, such as starts and solves. This tells us which puzzles and lessons people use. Analytics sets cookies.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics stays off until you say yes. Elsewhere it’s on unless you turn it off. With it off, Google may still get a visit count with no cookies.
Ads
Ads keep the puzzles free. They never appear inside a puzzle. Our ad partner is Google AdSense. With your permission, Google and its partners use cookies to choose ads and to count views and clicks. Without it, you may still see ads, but they aren’t based on your browsing.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask first. Elsewhere, ad cookies are on unless you turn them off, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

You can also block cookies in your browser settings. The puzzles still work.
